RALEIGH, NC—Legacy Healthcare Services, a national rehabilitation therapy, and wellness services provider in senior living communities, announced today the addition of Kathleen Dwyer as Vice President of Compliance. Dwyer brings a career of over 23 years of clinical, operational, and healthcare compliance experience to her new role with Legacy.

“Every role at Legacy has an impact on our patients’ lives and gives that individual the opportunity to make a difference each day,” said Jeff Ryan, Chief Executive Officer. “Compliance, doing everything right, especially when no one is looking is a non-negotiable in health care. We are looking forward to Kathleen’s insight, and I know her leadership in compliance and regulatory matters will make a positive impact on Legacy’s patients and our 2,500 employees.”

Most recently, Dwyer was responsible for oversight of the compliance program for CHS Therapy, which included quality assurance, appeals and denials, regulatory compliance, and enforcement of compliance. The duties and tasks she oversaw included therapy auditing and monitoring, education, and training regarding therapy compliance, including laws, regulations, organization policies, and documentation compliance standards.

Dwyer holds a bachelor of science in occupational therapy from Eastern Michigan University. She is certified in healthcare compliance and hand therapy. She is a board member of the occupational therapy assistant program at Kent State University in Ashtabula, Ohio.

“I look forward to fostering a dynamic and exemplary compliance program that will refine and empower each therapist at Legacy Healthcare Services with the ultimate goal of exceeding the expectations for the seniors that are placed within our care,” said Dwyer.
